AI Teaching Software | Student AI Literacy | Open Classes & School-based Support

Participating publicly funded schools receive a one-off HK$500,000 grant under the EDB’s “AI for Empowering Learning and Teaching” Funding Programme, available until 31 August 2028.

Heritage Connect provides flexible support based on each school’s subjects, levels and implementation progress.

School-based AI Solutions

1. AI Teaching Software

Four cross-curricular AI teaching tools support learning in financial literacy, community planning, Chinese history and Chinese Language.

Students make decisions, explore ideas or create work, while AI provides feedback for teachers to use in classroom discussion and follow-up learning.

2. Student AI Literacy Workshops

Workshops cover generative AI, fact-checking, privacy, AI bias and responsible use, with activities adapted to different year levels.

3. Open Classes & School-based Teaching Support

Support may include collaborative lesson planning, classroom demonstration design, teaching materials, AI teaching examples and experience sharing.

The focus is on developing practical learning and teaching resources that schools can continue to use.

Programme Requirements at a Glance

  • implement AI-assisted teaching in at least 3 subjects or curriculum areas, covering at least 2 levels in each
  • develop at least 6 AI teaching examples or sets of learning and teaching resources
  • conduct at least 3 open classes or classroom demonstrations
  • organise at least 3 experience-sharing sessions
  • organise or join at least 2 student activities focused on AI literacy and skills

Funding Scope

Relevant uses include AI software, learning and teaching resources, and suitable student activities that develop AI literacy and skills.

AI courses or workshops for teachers and parents are not covered by this funding and should be arranged through other school resources.
